While this could be - we ended up using the value of a register in the
patch which may no longer be available if different/higher optimization
was used.  Trying to analyze the code again in that detail to create
a patch for Win2K (or XP) probably isn't going to happen soon.  With
a refreshed tool chain we didn't find as much need to  work around the bug.
