I have had huge problems getting unepic to uncompress a 640 x 640 image without
dying in this way.  The error is intermittent in the sense that sometimes it
won't happen.  But it's not just a matter of trying again until it works;
usually, it doesn't work.

The PC dilemma:  a machine which is complex enough to have subtile problems,
but not powerful enough to let you fix them.
