You have removed atexit from the libc. (i stumbled over this when trying
to compile libc with an old makefile ;-) Maybe *this* is the answer to
the abv questions?
BTW: i didn't notice that cout doesn't flush. I thought it flushes
immediately after every \n?? But i will look for this. Do i remember
right that this happens only when stdout is redirected?
