Subject:	C++ beginner question

I apologize for asking such an easy question, but I am a beginner in C++
and I just bought the C++ 1991 book of Stroustrup. My question is:
* how much does the current port of C++ in djgpp agree with the Stroustrup
  book?
* Is the book a superset of the djgpp v1.08 (i.e. gcc 2.2.2)?
* or, is the GCC v2.2.2 a superset of the book?
* Any other hints/comments will be very much appreciated.
