yes. if you got windoze, lview is freeware, and is at:
ftp.cica.indiana.edu:/pub/pc/win3/util(or either desktop)/lview*zip
(or at ftp.cdrom.com:/pub/cica/util(or either desktop)/lview*zip

there's a great book called 'encyclopedia of graphics image formats'
(or some such) put out by o'reilly (okay, i don't know if it's great
either, but o'reilly does it, so it's worth something!) you prolly
wanna check out. comes w/ a CD w/source, i believe.
