Yes, you are correct.It does not need to be the realmode version.
 I use regular djgpp gcc in an oS/2 dos shell
all the time. The only thing that can trip you is if you don't have an FPU,
as 387emu doesn't work in DPMI. Of course version 2 will make this obsolete.
