You might prefer to use FIPS (search for fips12.zip on Linux sites).
This nondestructively splits DOS partitions. Its not trashed any of the
machines we've tried it on so far.

By moving djgpp,forth,brief,wxwin and some libs, to a 127Mbyte partition
I recovered >100Mbyte of space (I moved 90Mbyte of files and freed up
190+ on my 1G partition!)
