You probably have a very old version of the FAQ even for v1.x.

Anonymous ftp to any SimTel mirror, cd to the SimTel/vendors/djgpp/v2 
directory and get the file `faq200b.zip'.  It includes the FAQ in 3 
different formats, one of which is plain ASCII.
