There are several good graphics libraries around. My favourite two are 
Allegro and Jlib. Jlib is compatible with svgalib under Linux, which can 
be useful. If this does not concern you, I suggest using Allegro. This 
library has many routines which are useful, particularly in games 
programming, but also in other graphical applications.

Generally libs and objs from turbo c++ are not compatible with DJGPP. 
They are 16-bit files and gcc is a 32-bit compiler. There is a utility 
called 'o2c' meaning 'obj to coff', but this will only work on 32-bit 
lib/obj files. Even then, I've never got it to work...
