this is a legacy of the bad old days when Matrox required signing of an ND
before they would give you anything (similar to the old problem with
Diamond cards).

however, i just read yesterday that XFree86 is adding support for the
Matrox Millenium to their Xservers on high-end PC's and the DECpc XL (the
Alpha-based "NT Dream Machine," better served under Linux/Alpha).
Apparently, Matrox has come to their senses and agreed to release the
information.

so I suppose Matrox would have the details on how to get programming
information on their web page or whatever.. or check the XFree86 home page
and find out how to get the necessary info.
