The only time EMM386 would be required is if your application was taking
advantage of the multi-tasking/threading API that it provides. There is a
guy at the EDC working on a port of WatTCP to turn it into a TSR to allow
ip capable programs without having to link in the whole ip stack into each
executable. You'll just need to use a small API that will be berkeley
compatible.
