but you see, allegro as it is today took more than 2 years to develop.
of course, since it's a general library, not optimised for a certain
gme, you could make parts of it faster (like 3D poly drawers) but it's
still a good lib and you would waste your time reinventing the wheel.
About learning, I agree you should have SOME understanding of what is
going on, but, you have to agree with me, you can NEVER learn
*everything*, there's always going to be something that you don't know
that someone else does.
So at some point you have to stop learning (you're not a walking
enciclopedia after all) and use the tools available to you.
For example do you know how every part ogf your computer works? me, I
know some of them, the others, I couldn't care less... even if I would
spend my entire life just learning stuff, I don't think I would reach 5%
of all the knoweldge in the world.
