Check if the files were corrupted. Ask your friend the file size of his EXE file
he is trying to use and check if it matches. If all else, fails, do a web search
for F-PROT (a virus scanner), download it and run it on your system.

If the files were extracted from a ZIP and the files work on your side, it is
almost definately a virus. UNZIP or PKUNZIP etc. would report an error if the
files were corrupted.
