The problem's not with the compiler but may be with the runtime.
Are you running on a version of Windows 2K/XP?
There are known problems running DJGPP under Windows 2K/XP.
See http://clio.rice.edu/djgpp/win2k/main.htm references to V2.03
refresh/upgrade to get modified versions that workaround bugs in the
DOS emulators in those environments.
