It may be something with DOSBox itself.  DOSBox is used to allow games to
run on newer operating systems.  In order to do so, DOSBox does not
accurately emulate everything.  E.g., they supposedly don't support DPMI
since most DOS games didn't need it.  DJGPP programs use DPMI.

QEMU, VirtualBox, and BOCH's are emulators.  You could try them.  You might
also try MESS computer emulator with PC emulation.  MESS is an offshoot of
MAME arcade emulator.
