It seems to be a compiler issue.  I have tried the following compiler versions
gcc343b.zip, gcc401b.zip, gcc412b.zip, gcc423b.zip, gcc432b.zip and gcc445b.zip.
They all worked and allowed to complete the build process.
gcc452b.zip fails in the same way that gcc453b.zip.
Changing the make versions has no influence.
I will try gcc460 ASAP.

If more information is required please let me know.
