I don't know how tested that one is, so I decided to
stay safe and use r5+latest updates to it

Actually 1.5.0-final is about to be released in a day or
two.  For the packages intended for release, but see here:
http://uhexen2.sourceforge.net/tmp/

If you still have a crash, I'd like to have a detailed bug report
about it.
