Because Bash by itself isn't ever enough, it snowballs from there to
include a bunch of POSIX tools and weird ./configure + m4 + awk + sed
+ make + whatever that is always cryptic and doesn't work well with
DJGPP anymore.

But Bash isn't really needed here. Luckily the necessary stuff is
pretty tame (DOSLFN, basic GCC, Make, some CoreUtils).

He seems to mostly target and test on Windows and Linux. And he does
have POSIX bindings for file access. But he's also trying to target
other (non-tier 1) platforms too (thankfully), at least superficially,
e.g. Mac OS X, *BSD.
