Hello!

I like to learn how gEDA is working, was looking at tutorial and read many
pages on your wiki. I think I'm beggining understand the main idea. It is
not simple but i think it has much more sense than on first look.

To understand how it is all working I'm going to make simple example with
LM2574 PSU i'm going to use with one small device what actuallly i'm
"painting" in Eagle.

At the beginning i did create the element symbol, I believe it is correct
but if someone can please look at it i'll be very grateful for some hints
what I did wrong, and why it is wrong.

http://wariat.org.pl/smietnik/gEDA/LM2574-1.sym
http://wariat.org.pl/smietnik/gEDA/ST485-1.sym

Now as probbly every newbie here I'm stuck on PCB footprints :D

Because I like to learn not make the circuit for the beginning I like to
create footprint for KF301 screw terminal. I've downloaded the footprint:
http://www.gedasymbols.org/user/amand_tihon/footprints/Connectors/screw_5mm=
_2-op.fpand
it is working great except i cannot add thermal to the pads. Maybe
because they are not defined in the footprint (?) or because gEDA cannot ad
dtermals to this type of pad (?).

Anyway as I undrstand the main gEDA idea I can create a script e.g.
MK301_terminal.??? put it into packages/connectors folder and call it with
parameter to draw footprint for as many pins as I like.

If yes i like to ask about some hints and maybe footprint scripting
tutorial for newbies (i did looking for it but cannot find any), best with
an easy way to test how it is working.

Thank you!
