Hello. I am using gscehm 1.6.2 on Fedora 15. I tried to modify the Linea=
r opamp symbol=2C lm741-1.sym=2C to make it conform to the spice model in g=
spiceui: gspiceui-0.9.98/examples/lib/opamp/lm741.mod.
So I highlighted the component=2C and selected 'Down Symbol' from the He=
irarchy menu. This gave me a page in gschem with the symbol=2C where I went=
about editing it to obtain conformance - in particular=2C the pin numberin=
g. While editing I noticed that the pin type of each pin was set to the sam=
e data as the pin number. As well=2C every data field that I checked held t=
he same data. Well=2C maybe I don't know how to get the actual data to list=
. Is there some magic for this?
That wasn't=2C however my main problem. When I saved the page=2C after e=
diting and renaming the .sym file=2C I pressed 'Up' in the Heirarchy menu=
=2C returning to the .sch file=2C where I chose =93Update Component' from t=
he Edit menu. NOTHING happened. The component did not update. Gschem would =
highlight the U? On the component=2C but that's it. Further=2C the .sym fil=
e I created was nowhere to be found. It should have been in my home directo=
ry. I know how to check. It did not exist. I tried several times=2C just to=
be sure. Do I have to change permissions somewhere to get this to take?=20
Seems all the .sym files are owned by root. Should I copy them to my loc=
al directory and change ownership permissions?
   Thanks for listening.
