I'm not terribly familiar with how the GUI and command line code works, but
I would imagine a GTK+ colour chooser could just be used to populate a text
field, and that text field could also be used on the command line. Whether
or not that is a feasible thing to do, I have no idea. Perhaps that is what
you mean by a "special attribute".
