As an afterthought, you should open the symbol in gschem after rotating it 
and move the pin endpoints (and maybe the attributes) to the grid using 
"resnap" mode, available from the options menu.  You may have to move them 
near a grid location while snap is disabled in order to be able to select 
them with snap turned on.
