I didn't know about the zoom artifacts; I don't remember having seen 
anything like this on my machine.  It would be helpful if you could test 
if you still get these for current gEDA/gaf master.

As for the crashes, I only experience them very rarely (maybe twice a 
year), so it would be really helpful if someone could provide me with a 
coredump from one of the random crashes.  (You can enable coredumps by 
typing "ulimit -c unlimited" in the same shell before starting gschem.)

Vladimir, were you able to reproduce these issues?  How did you fix them?
