From: Matthew Richey Date: Tue, 18 Apr 95 15:28:47 CDT To: djgpp AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu Subject: djgcc install problems I have been continually trying to do an install of djgpp on an 486SX with 20 mbs of RAM running DOS 5.0. My first query to the readership indicated that my problem might lie with the RAM and HIGH memory situation. I have now fixed that and still I have problems. Heres the situation. I can compile and run C programs without a hitch. The problems occurs when I try a C++ compile. I get segmentation fault (almost) every time. I say almost because I did get one compile to work. I used stubedit gcc.exe to change the virtual memory allocation to zero. The next time, like magic, I got a "Hello World" C++ compile to work. Alas, no go the next time. Is this a clue or a red herring? In any case, being a novice at DOS and PC's in general, I don't have a clue as to what to do next. Note: An additional clue is that 4th maintanence fix, 112m4.bat, also has a segementation crash when I try to run it. I would greatly appreciate any advice on this. At the moment, I am dead in the water. Thanks in advance Matt Richey richeym AT stolaf DOT edu (please reply to my e-mail if possible)
