From: Charles Sandmann Date: Fri, 28 Apr 1995 14:18:48 -0500 (CDT) The time from beta to release will depend on how long it takes to get a few remaining features done and all the known bugs out. Don't let the "beta" scare you -- it is actually a lot more stable than the current go32-solution. In addition, the libraries are a lot more consistent. Occationally there are a few projects that needs volunteers. One such is extension of the current "stub" to handle compressed binaries. [Rather: creation of a variant by conditional defines.] You would need: (1) assembly knowledge, (2) the current V2-alpha stuff, (3) the sources for gzip (inflate.c basically). If you could bring yourself into a position where the inflation code runs in 32-bit mode that part should be pretty easy. Morten -- Unfortunately, even though DJ and pat have spawned off a subprocess that runs in parallel (this is not quite evident from the picture on http://www.delorie.com/, but anyway) V2 will not be able to do so.
