Information with bash as the shell > would be very welcome. I did that before. If you use the Bash-2.01 beta, most problems will be solved. I have sent some patches to the (very cooperative) maintainer, for handling text/binary mode, etc. Last time I looked, the patches were in, and probably the only problems you will encounter are in libtool/Autoconf/Automake. IIRC, the distribution is LFN-clean, except for config.h.in maybe, which should be renamed config.h-in. Then, the file configure.in should also contain a pointer to config.h:config.h-in. Even 'make check' runs ok if you use the right program to compare.
