Yes, they do that. In fact, if you attempt to do this under Windows,
the program terminates instantaneously and the DOS box closes.
On OSes like Linux .... of course, this won't work unless IOPL is set
to 3 (See http://www.midpec.com/djgpp/protmode/index8.html for details
on IOPL).
