Subject: DJGPP 1.08 under DV/X To: djgpp AT sun DOT soe DOT clarkson DOT edu Date: Mon, 12 Oct 92 9:52:55 MDT From: arrakis!thor AT uunet DOT UU DOT NET (Robert B. Hood) Well, I have found the problem. I *knew* that I had compiled with DJGPP under DESQview/X before -- and I proved that by re-compiling a "hello world" program under DV/X with no problems. However, my other application (X/News) was hanging the system. After I saw that one would compile and another wouldn't, it occurred to me that it was a matter of memory. My DOS window was set for only 1MB of expanded memory. I bumped that up to 4MB (and then down to 3MB) and my X/News application will now compile under DESQview/X with DJGPP 1.08. Thanks to Stephen Turnbull for replying to me, but I had already found the solution. Kind of a bummer, though. I have to suck down nearly half of my available RAM in one window just to do a DJGPP compile. Oh, well, the ability to compile X clients more than makes up for that, I guess.
