I think I need to recheck that I am setting the required environment variables prior to using INFO. (My own turn-around to this list is slow because I am accessing it from work, but I am installing the compiler at home, where I don't yet have Internet access.) It may be that I was trying to use INFO before executing the SET commands. I was only thinking about the compiler needing the SETs and not INFO. I have to respond to one person's comment that most programmers know that GCC is a DOS compiler. Well, you have to start somewhere and the README file clearly says that DJGPP runs under OS/2. A couple of people have pointed me to the EMX package. I know equally little about both DJGPP and EMX. I have not installed EMX yet, but after downloading it, I can see it is a true OS/2 application and produces OS/2 programs. I have also found that the documentation is viewable by a standard OS/2 utility ("VIEW"). So, I am going to take a harder look at EMX. Since my project involves comparing experiences with C++ and Ada, both being OS/2 compilers will make for a fairer comparison. T.
