Date: Tue, 6 May 2008 20:14:24 +0200 Content-Disposition: inline X-Y-GMX-Trusted: 0 This is a port of FreeBE/AF 1.2 to MSDOS/DJGPP. DJGPP specific changes. ======================= A mayor amount of syntax fixes is required to get the souces compiled with actual DJGPP tools. No other changes that the ones required to compile the sources have been done. As usual the diffs file is stored in the /djgpp dir. The sources have been compiled using gcc430b, bnu217br2, djdev203, djdev204 and a freshly compiled djdev204 checked out from the CVS source tree. Please note that I have no hardware to test if the drivers really work. If they do not work you can report it to me but you can not expect that I solve your problem. I have neither the hardware nor an application that requires these drivers, so I will not be able to reproduce and debug the defficulties you may reporting. Neitherless if you are able to solve the problem, your patch will always be welcome for inclusion. This binary package is different from the original version (freebb12.zip). This version creates a directory tree that starts with /contrib/freeb-1.2 where all general docs and all drivers are stored with there particular docs, in their own dirs. This means that you must install your selected driver manually and make all driver specific adjustments manually too. The original version has an install program that allows graphic hardware autodetection and also installation and configuration of the selected driver. This tool will not be available. To compile this program the allegro library and certain allegro binaries must be installed. It must also be noticed that the source of the program is almost 10 years old so that certain code adjustments are required to be able to compile this tool. Because I have no insight in the allegro library and also install.exe from freebb12.zip does not work well on my XP-box, I have stopped the attempt to get the install program working. Of course, this has no influence on the quality of the drivers itself; you are simply alone with the installation and no graphic hardware detection tool will be available at all. Because this port is very hardware specific it will be of no interest for the for the vast mayority of the DJGPP users. Again, I can not debug and fix any problems that this port my generate. Please read the docs to become familiar with this product. The port consists of two packages that have been compiled using djdev203 and that can be downloaded from ftp.delorie.com and mirrors as (timestamp 2008-05-06): FreeBE/AF 1.2 drivers and documentation: ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/current/v2tk/allegro/freeb12b.zip FreeBE/AF 1.2 source: ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/current/v2tk/allegro/freeb12s.zip For the convenience of the WinXP users the binaries has been produced a second time using the djdev204 beta library. This package is available at ftp.delorie.com and mirrors as (timestamp 2008-05-06): FreeBE/AF 1.2 drivers and documentation: ftp://ftp.delorie.com/pub/djgpp/beta/v2tk/allegro/freeb12b.zip Please note that this port follows the usual naming convention, this means it is called freeb12[b|s].zip. The original packages has the name freeb[b|s]12.zip. Do not download the wrong one. Send suggestions and bug reports concerning the DJGPP port to comp.os.msdos.djgpp or . Enjoy. Guerrero, Juan Manuel
