You are running ngspice 20.

So, not the one installed from the ubuntu repositories, which is ngsp= ice 23.

> which ngspice:
> /usr/local/bin/ngspice

The binary being located below /usr/local/bin/ indicates that at some point= in
the past, you have manually compiled and installed ngspice 20. Since
/usr/local/bin has precedence over /usr/bin in your $PATH, it's this on= e that
is executed.

Check with "dpkg -L ngspice ngspice-doc" which files are part of = the ubuntu
packages: all of them should be below /usr/bin, /usr/lib and /usr/share. Delete their equivalent below /usr/local/bin, /usr/local/lib and
/usr/local/share (or move them away if you want to be extra safe).

After that "which ngspice" should return the expected "/usr/= bin/ngspice", and
running it should show
** ngspice-23 : Circuit level simulation program

HTH.
