For User URL's I don't think they should be stored or shown separately,
but I won't object to clean patches that do that.

I will object if they are in different combo boxes (it's non-intuitive
to select from both).

And for storage, If you want comments, feel free to contribute a patch

Cool. A couple observations:

HTTP/Proxy support - if you select HTTP/Proxy (as opposed to "direct" or
"use IE5 settings"), but forget to enter a proxy server, I get a crash
(Dr. Watson) under NT4. Don't know if this is a new problem, but it's
the first time I noticed it.

The "Installation Successful" screen at the end - have you considered
making that dialog box look the same as the rest of the wizard? Now that
all other windows look similar, this one seems a tad bit out of place...

For User download site URLs, will they be listed separately (or
distinctly in any way) from the "standard" URLs? It would be nice to
have an obvious way to see which URLs in the list are because I entered
them, and which are the cygwin standard sites (subject to change without
notice, blah blah). I'd imagine either two separate "sections" within
the one long list, or perhaps two separate listboxes, both of which can
have multiple selections. Also, once the User URLs persist, will there
be any way to store a Comment with each one? Depending on how obvious
the URL is, it may be hard to remember which URL maps to which custom
packages I use...

Thanks for the peek at the future (look good so far!), and thanks for
all your hard work,

Subject: New setup build for people's perusal

I'm too exhausted to f%&# around with CRLFs, indents that don't, CVS and
sometimes Y, ChangeLog nits, etc etc etc, but since I've got a script to
new setup builds to my web site automatically I figured I'd do so to
show off
some of my latest changes. To wit:

- The most noticeable change is the size and look of the wizard. It's
99.44% compliant with MS's "Backward Compatible Wizard 97" specs, which
basically means it's a lot bigger than what we've had before, looks a
lot more
like a lot of other installers and wizards floating around (and
InstallShield, but you gotta take the good with the horrific I guess),
and has a
bit more expositional text, complete with two different fonts. That big
rectangle is supposed to be a bitmap, but the Cygwin resource compiler
choking on it so I just put in a big white rectangle. Other choices are
rectangles and grey rectangles. Yep, three different not-even-colors.

- "Add user URL" has been consolidated into the Site selection page and
works as intended (sites get added to the URL list and you can then
from them). Eventually there'll be a "Remove", but the added URLs
don't persist across instantiations so the lack of that functionality is
less of
a problem than you'd think.

- Some other, minor stuff.

EXE and sources are here:
http://home.att.net/~g.r.vansickle/cygwin/setup/. For
evaluation purposes only. Not to be used as a flotation device.

I'm going to bed now so I can get good and loaded tonight. Merry New
Year's Eve
Day, every one!
