Subject: Miroemacs with gcc ?

To edit my usual files on my 486, I use Microemacs (version 3.10-5.2).
Works OK after some patches to capitalize correctly accented letters,
but the drawback: limited to conventional DOS memory (600 kbytes approx),
since it was compiled with TurboC.

I tried to recompile it with gcc but it requires a mem.h file, and this
is due to the TURBO option. I tried other DEFs, but it fails with some
"register" declarations.

--> Is there a version of Microemacs somewhere which could be compiled
with gcc (of course using the classical screen and keyboeard features
of the PC, i.e. the F1--F12 keys, the arrows, etc.) ?

Second question: I usually use a UNIX machine (HP9000) not through the
X-terminal, but through TELNET and either a PC or a VAX with a VT100
terminal. Thus I can only edit files usings VI (awfullllll!). Thus,
I would like to have en emacs on the HP9000 fit for VT100-like
terminals. Any suggestion ?
