I've never gotten recursive makefiles to work with my amount of low memory, so I just edit them not to do that, or manually invoke the second level "make" commands directly. Take a look at the makefile at label "install:" -- it probably does some hairy sort of make command, which you can just issue directly at the dos prompt. paul
