"info" is distributed with djgpp. All the docs are in texinfo which is
read by the info program. Also the TeX and related programs may be
obtained free from the CTAN archives. You just need to supply the
space on your hard disk :)
This thread has been beaten to death some time ago. The docs are
written by (mostly) FSF, and they have chosen TeX/texinfo
system. People have posted postscript files (I dont remember where).
There is a "detex" program which can get rid off TeX commands and
provide pure ascii (for use in spellchecking TeX files).
