I haven't tried any of this, but for those of you who are interested in 
multitasking now with DJGPP, there is a package that claims to do this 
called PC-Choices which can be found on a garbo mirror, or you supposedly 
can ftp it from choices.cs.uiuc.edu in the Choices/PC-Choices directory.

PC-Choices is an attempt to be a portable object-oriented operating
system. The version on garbo is 0.5, and I haven't tried it, and it's more
than two years old. Experiment with caution. 

Any of you ever heard of or used PC-Choices?
