There should be two README files in the directory which holds DJGPP.
The file README.DOC includes a list of files which you must download
and also tells you what you should download additionally for every
optional package you want to install. If the ftp site you are looking
at doesn't have those files, use another site. I would suggest to
download and install the following:
bnu24bn.zip
bnu24dc.zip
cbgrd103.zip
cbgrf103.zip
cbgrx103.zip
diff26bn.zip
diff26dc.zip

gcc260dc.zip
gdb412bn.zip
gdb412dc.zip
gpp260.zip
grx103m1.zip
gzp124bn.zip
gzp124dc.zip
lgp260bn.zip

unzip386.exe
This assumes you want both C and C++ development, and the basic
development tools like Make, Info (hypertext docs reader) etc.
This is certainly a lot of files (around 10 MBytes compressed),
but I don't think you can easily get away with less. I didn't
include Flex and Bison in the above, because these are rarely
used (unless you want to rebuild the compiler). The ftp site
should also include a file called 00_index.txt which includes
a list of all files and their short descriptions.
