I tried to compile the pov-ray sources for msdos and they compiled fine. When they are run the cursor is displayed and the program enters into an infinite loop. I tracked down the problem and it appears that the ' charachter (single qoute, apostrophe) has been used in many places in place of the " (double quote) or brackets (); This causes the expressions not to evaluate (GCC tells me this if I comple the source with -Wall). There is over a megabyte of source and it would take a bit long to hand pick through all the sources and replace ' with " or ( in all the right places. Is there a faster solution or a switch to gcc that will allow it to compile this code properly. I am using the supplied makefile. The code is for MSDOS Pov-Ray 3.0. I would like to thank all the guys on this group for being polite and friendly (unlike a lot of the regulars on c.lang.c). I don't belive my problem is in the faq.
